Black Dresses

It's every woman's dream to wear the little black dress. But not all of us are confident enough to flaunt the dress or go sexy and bold. In reality, a black dress actually complements any kind of skin tone and body shape and even hides the love handles and bulges if used smartly. You just need to pick the right style for yourself. While models will make us believe that skin and bones is the right look, black dress actually looks great on well-endowed, voluptuous woman. For woman who are "apple shaped" i.e. have larger upper body can do well to get a black dress that is a loose fit on the top and tightens down to hug your waste and legs. This will take the attention away from the upper body shape and highlight the slimmer form of the lower body. Fitted tops or low necklines are to be avoided absolutely. Black wrap dress is probably best avoided too. For woman with flat chest and no discernible curves, a tight fit black dress can actually make them look more like a pencil then a woman. Stylists suggest low necklines or even off shoulders, with trimmings over the bust or piping below the bust giving the impression of a bosom and then again some padding or design just below the rib cage to give the waist a illusory curve. Woman with heavier and wider lower body can do well to wear a black apparel that is body hugging on the top and flows down in a straight black skirt or gown. A black halter dress with a long straight skirt can be a good option for this body type. Most people believe that curvy woman can carry off any dress. But even these woman can make use of their curves by dressing in black halter dresses that have deep V necks and flow down to flair out over hips. The quality of the fabric also plays a great part in how your black dress fits you. Choose silk and linen for a stiff and flouncy fit and wool and cashmere for a more body hugging fit. For those who have great legs and love to flaunt their little black dress, the length should be just above the knee. Black dresses generally need very little accessory and should preferably worn with one piece of jewelry that stand out. If you are wearing an off shoulder black cocktail dress, you can wear danglers to make your neck look longer. For a low-neck black halter dress, a solitaire on a silver chain creating a second V on the neck should look great. Complement your dress with black or contrasting colored clutches. Last but not the least wear good shoes. A black dress can be ruined without the shoes to complement it. The shoes must have some heel and preferably not cover your entire feet. Try not to wear cheap glitzy shoes with a little black dress. With no cover from a long skirt or gown, they will draw attention. Boots work very nice with knee length black dress whereas dress heels are the best for a black cocktail dress. Always remember it is not just the black dress but the total outfit that makes the look.
